CASSA hires across research and operations. Paid research roles run from Research Assistantships — at graduate, post-baccalaureate and undergraduate levels — to the Outreach Ambassador post, while day-to-day operations are supported by staff roles such as the Manager (Science), the Observatory Engineer and the Project Manager.

Every paid position is created with the approval of the VC Office and advertised openly for at least two weeks. Shortlisted candidates are interviewed by a panel of at least two members senior to the post — including at least one Director — and at least two references are sought. All paid roles carry a three-month probation, and recruitment is monitored for equity, diversity and inclusion. (CASSA Constitution v2.0, cl. 20)
