Research internships at CASSA — the application pathway, who can apply, and how interns join a live research project.

The internship pathway
Internships are CASSA's main entry point for students. Research Interns join at undergraduate, post-baccalaureate or graduate level for a renewable six-month term, working alongside a supervising Core or Associate Member on a live project. (CASSA Constitution v2.0, cl. 16)
The pathway is open and structured: explore the Center's research areas to find a fit, reach out to a prospective supervisor, and — after an interview arranged through the Science Manager — enter a roughly two-month onboarding pipeline. Confirmed interns commit to a three-to-six-month term with at least one full day on-site each week, deliver an internship report and a presentation, and are encouraged to publish their work (for example as an AAS Research Note).
Undergraduates, post-baccalaureates, graduates and motivated school students (HSC, A-Levels, Alim) are all eligible. Meet the current cohort on the Interns & Undergraduates page.

CASSA accepts research-intern applications on a rolling basis — you don't need to wait for an open circular. Follow the pathway above to approach a supervisor, or write to [email protected]. Any time-bound intern calls will also appear here.
