Astronomy Night 15: Dive into Virtual Worlds
Astronomy Night 15 pairs a live Ask-an-Astronomer Q&A with an immersive VR experience — walk the Earth, spacewalk the ISS, and stargaze through CASSA's telescopes.
Astronomy Night 15 brings two ways of exploring the cosmos under one roof — putting the questions of curious minds directly to a working astronomer, then handing them a headset to step inside the worlds they have only read about.
- When: 25 June 2026, 6 – 8 PM
- Where: CASSA, Independent University, Bangladesh
Ask an Astronomer
The evening opens with a live Q&A session — your chance to ask an astronomer anything, from the everyday to the cosmic. No question is too small or too strange. Bring your curiosity about black holes, the search for life, the fate of the Universe, or what it actually takes to become an astronomer.
Dive into Virtual Worlds
The heart of the night is an immersive VR experience that turns abstract astronomy into something you can stand inside:
- Walk on Google Earth — roam the planet from a vantage point usually reserved for satellites.
- ISS spacewalk — float outside the International Space Station and look back at the Earth below.
Telescopes & Stargazing
Weather permitting, we move outdoors for telescope stargazing — meeting the real night sky directly through CASSA’s instruments, guided by trained Durbin volunteers.
Stargazing depends on the weather and sky condition.
Come for the questions. Stay for the worlds.
