SOD Hiring: 2 Undergraduate Research Assistants

CASSA is seeking two highly motivated undergraduate students to join our research team as Students on Duty (SODs). Serving as Undergraduate Research Assistants (URA), successful candidates will be integrated into active projects, focusing on the architectural development of Python-based data analysis and simulation pipelines. Beyond technical proficiency, we prioritize individuals with a demonstrable capacity for analytical problem-solving and a rigorous foundation in the scientific method.

Responsibilities

  1. Work in-person at CASSA at least two days per week (Sat, Sun, Tue, or Thu) from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
  2. Co-author at least one CASSA research publication in 2026 (subject to research contribution and performance).

Eligibility criteria

  1. Must be a currently enrolled undergraduate student at IUB, majoring in one of the approved fields listed in the application form below.
  2. Must have a laptop with Unix (Linux or Mac), or where Ubuntu can be installed if you are selected.
  3. Completion of at least 50 credits.
  4. Minimum CGPA of 3.0.

Required skills

  1. Python software pipeline or package development
  2. Machine learning and AI (optional but highly recommended)
  3. Proven enthusiasm in science

Employment

  • Total duration: 4 months (can be extended upon performance)
  • Remuneration: 12,000 BDT per month
  • Start date: 1 March 2026
  • End date: 30 June 2026
