IUB On Campus Job: CASSA Outreach Ambassador

The Outreach Ambassador will lead the organization of all CASSA outreach events at IUB and liaise with external partners involved in CASSA’s outreach initiatives (primarily BDOAA and Durbin). The role will be carried out under the supervision of a Faculty Coordinator and the Director of CASSA. The position is open to undergraduate students from all departments, regardless of major or minor; however, prior experience in teamwork, leadership, entrepreneurship, or science outreach will be considered a strong advantage.

Responsibilities

  1. Liaise with the Academic Committee and Organizing Committee of Bangladesh Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics (BDOAA).
  2. Lead the organization of the Dhaka Regional Round and the National Round of BDOAA at IUB.
  3. Coordinate with the Core Volunteers of Durbin and the Chapter Volunteers of different Durbin chapters across the country.
  4. Lead the organization of Astronomy Nights (7 pm – 10 pm) at IUB.
  5. Oversee the recruitment process and guide the regular activities of Durbin IUB.

Eligibility criteria

  1. Must be a currently enrolled undergraduate student at IUB.
  2. Completion of at least 70 credits.
  3. Minimum CGPA of 3.0.

Required skills

  1. Proven experience and skills in teamwork and leadership.
  2. Proficiency in Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Forms, Gemini).
  3. Proven enthusiasm in astronomy, space science or science outreach.

Employment

  • Total duration: 1 year
  • Includes a 2-month unpaid training period, followed by 10 months of paid employment.
  • Remuneration: 12,000 BDT per month for 10 months
