CHiTRA—CASSA Highlights, Transactions and Research Announcements—is a peer-reviewed journal (not indexed by Scopus) edited and published by CASSA. It started in 2024 on a small national scale for publishing the scientific research of mostly undergraduate and postbac students who do not have sufficient training for publishing in the Scopus-indexed journals on an international scale.
CHiTRA covers all topics within astronomy, space science and astrophysics (ASSA) and emphasizes all aspects of simulation, instrumentation, theory and observation (SITO).

- Charge: Free for the authors (no article-processing charge) and Free for the readers (open access).
- Date of establishment: 22 November, 2024.
- Peer review style: Only an advanced PhD student, postdoctoral researcher or faculty member in a field of ASSA can be a reviewer; both the authors and readers will know the reviewer; the name of the reviewer will be added in a footnote of the final version of the paper if it is accepted.
- Submission guideline: Prepare your article following the writing guidelines of Astronomy & Astrophysics; 3 types of articles can be submitted:
- Highlights: maximum 3 A4 pages.
- Research Announcements: more than 3, but maximum 7 A4 pages.
- Transactions: more than 7 A4 pages, no upper limit; reviews and original research are equally welcome.
- Article template: Only the PDFs produced using LaTex will be accepted for review; use the Overleaf Template of Astronomy & Astrophysics as an example.
- Submission process: Send only the final PDF (not the source) created from overleaf (or your preferred LaTex compiler) to chitra@cassa.site.
- Publication: the final accepted version will be uploaded to arXiv and the PDF link and abstract will be published on this website.
